ROOF Volunteer Opportunities

None of our community events are possible without volunteers! Opportunities are numerous and include wrapping Christmas gifts, packaging school supplies, light clerical work, handing out Turkey baskets, and much more.

Student Volunteer Hours

Middle, High School, or College students needing service hours can volunteer at ROOF. Students can volunteer in areas that interest them or try a wide variety of activities. Examples of volunteer activities include tutoring beginning readers, helping with Arts and Crafts, sorting and package food in the Food Bank, and performing light clerical work. Volunteers also are needed for community projects such as food drives and Operation Santa. For more information, please contact Kellie McNelly or Gabrielle Davis at 273-6375.

Internships

ROOF is available as an internship site for college students interested in pursuing a career in the social services field. To learn more about the opportunities available at ROOF, please call Kellie McNelly at 273-6375.

How to Volunteer

ROOF serves a variety of vulnerable clients, including children and seniors. In order to ensure their safety, ROOF staff screen volunteers. All volunteers are asked to complete a short intake form including contact and emergency information. Depending on the duration and nature of the volunteer assignment, volunteers may be asked to complete a background check and be fingerprinted. To find out about all the volunteer opportunities available at ROOF, please contact Kellie McNelly or Gabrielle Davis, 273-6375.
