Food Bank
About the ROOF Food Bank
The food bank serves the community by supplying emergency food to families and individuals in need. We serve approximately 700 families or over 2,000 individuals every month. ROOF is a member of Northwest Harvest, Food Lifeline, Washington Food Coalition and the Emergency Food Assistance Program.
Donations
We rely on donations and food drives such as the annual Walk ‘n’ Knock, the Postal Workers Food Drive, and various school and business food drives to keep the shelves stocked through the year. Nutritious foods, baby products, personal care items and cleaning supplies are always welcomed from concerned individuals. We have a large walk-in refrigerator and freezer so we are able to accept donations of fresh perishables such as produce, eggs and dairy products. We can not accept homemade or home-canned food or farm fresh eggs.
Financial contributions are also appreciated. Because of our expanded purchasing power, each dollar donated to the food bank allows us to purchase 5 pounds of food.
Someone is available on site to receive donations Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 5:00.
